Prevent Child Abuse Arizona is hosting in Mesa a “Basic Forensic Interview Training” class to improve techniques for investigative interviews of children and to reduce additional trauma to the child victim. The training will be held 8:15 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, July 20, at Mesa Police Department Training Facility, 3260 N. 40th St.
The training is designed for professionals with duties that include interviewing suspected victims of child maltreatment, such as law enforcement, department of child safety professionals, professionals with the Office of Child Welfare Investigations and prosecutors, according to https://www.pcaaz.org/event-management/?ee=121. People who do not meet the above criteria may not attend the training, according to the website.
