Public assistance sought by Mesa police to identify suspect in attempted sexual assault

The Mesa Police Department is seeking assistance with identifying a suspect in an attempted sexual assault that occurred on Feb. 28 in the area of Horne and Second Avenue.

The female victim was approached by the suspect while in a parking lot in the area, according to a press release from Detective Esteban Flores of the Mesa Police Department.

“The victim and suspect struggled and she was able to get away and contact the authorities. The suspect fled the scene and was not located,” Detective Flores said in the release.

The suspect was described as a white mn with leathery skin, 30 years old, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140-160 pounds, buzz-cut blond hair and yellowish teeth with gaps. He was last seen wearing Jeans, navy blue hooded sweater and a black tank-top.

Mesa detectives have been working the case, but are seeking assistance with identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211 or Silent Witness at 480-Witness.
