Connie and Ricky Ferguson, of Mesa, won $1.1 million dollars on Monday, March 23, according to the Arizona Lottery website.
Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson took a trip to Heber to do some hiking and amateur photography the day they purchased their winning ticket. The ticket was purchased from Circle K, 1581 Mainline Road in Heber.
Mrs. Ferguson played a set of randomly chosen numbers that she had selected. According to the website, when they checked their numbers on Sunday morning, the numbers matched those drawn for the $1.1 million jackpot of March 21.
Afterward, the couple decided to speak with a financial advisor to avoid mistakes caused by sudden wealth.
According to the website, although the winning couple have always dreamed of owning a Corvette, a car is not in their immediate future.
Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson plan to continue working, according to the website.
