Part of the money was raised by Monte Vista residents through their annual “Tin to Treasure” fundraiser that features a home tour of updated and remodeled homes. In addition to fundraising for the organization, many residents also volunteer on Thursday mornings to pack the backpacks for children in need, according to a press release.
