Two liquor license applications for Mesa businesses were considered at the May 18 Mesa City Council meeting. It was held in the council chambers, 57 E. First St.
The council voted to make the following recommendations to the Arizona Department of Liquor License and Control:
- to approve a new Series 12 Restaurant License for Ban Chan Inc. doing business as Ban Chan Korean Cuisine, which serves lunch and dinner at 2909 S. Dobson Road Suite No. 7. Jaco Woo is the agent. There is no existing license at this location, according to the agenda for the meeting.
- to deny a new Series 12 Restaurant License for Thai Season LLC, a restaurant that serves lunch and dinner at 1245 W. Baseline Road Suite No. 101. Sirichai Mahasirichoke is the agent. There is no existing license at this location. City staff members recommended that the council vote to recommend denial of the application, according to the meeting’s agenda. “The staff recommendation is for denial due to evidence that all necessary licenses required by the city have not been obtained,” according to the agenda.The council voted 7-0 in a consent agenda on the two above items. Voting were Mayor John Giles, Vice Mayor Dennis Kavanaugh, District 3; and council members Dave Richins, District 1; Alex Finter, District 2; Chris Glover, District 4; David Luna; District 5; and Kevin Thompson, District 6.
